About Art Tattler

Art Tattler relaunched in 2026 as an independent publication under new ownership. It has no connection to the earlier Art Tattler or its writers.

What we cover

Art Tattler writes about art and the people who make, keep and trade it. That means artists and movements from the Renaissance to the present, photography, architecture and design, and the history of collecting. It also means a subject most art magazines skip: coins and medals, which are sculpture in relief and some of the oldest portraits anyone can hold.

Every article lists its sources at the end. Our editorial standards explain how we choose them and how we handle corrections.

The relaunch

This domain was home to a different publication called Art Tattler for several years. That publication stopped, and the domain lapsed. New owners acquired it and relaunched Art Tattler in 2026.

The two are separate. The earlier publication's editors and writers have no part in this one, and nothing here is written by them or on their behalf. We do not reproduce their articles or their images, and we do not present our work as theirs.

Old links to this domain

Many websites still link to addresses on arttattler.com that belonged to the earlier publication. We did not want those links to end in an error page, so we handled them in two ways.

Where an old address had a clear subject, such as a named artist, it now leads to a new article we wrote on that subject. These are our own articles, written and sourced in 2026. They do not reproduce or summarise what the earlier publication said.

Every other old address leads to the section that covers its subject, so a link about a photographer lands on our Photography section and a link about a building lands on Architecture and Cities.
